Nitrex Secures Largest Order In Company History

Nitrex is pleased to announce the receipt of a significant order from a top-tier European component supplier in the automotive industry. Nitrex has been awarded a multi-million-dollar contract to provide a turnkey automated nitrocarburizing installation exclusively designed for the production of brake components for electric passenger vehicles.

From the outset, Nitrex’s solution experts and the customer’s product engineers embarked on an extensive collaboration to ensure the success of this project. Leveraging Nitrex’s knowledge and facilities across Europe and the Americas, comprehensive testing, trials, and treatment refinements were conducted on brake parts. This meticulous validation process showcases Nitrex’s commitment to delivering exceptional quality and reliability at every stage of the customer experience.

As a key player in the automotive industry, the supplier plays a vital role in supporting the electrification strategies of its customers and contributing to a sustainable future. Nitrex’s expertise in this area will enable the supplier to drive innovation and enhance its leadership in the electric vehicle market.

Under the contract, Nitrex will design, manufacture, commission, and test two cutting-edge continuous-line furnaces capable of processing millions of brake parts annually. The NXL furnace series, with its automation capabilities and continuous flow-through design, precisely meets the supplier’s requirements for improved process efficiency and optimized production.

In addition to the advanced furnace design, Nitreg®-C and ONC® technologies are integral to this order. This ferritic nitrocarburizing process with post-oxidation improves metal corrosion resistance and effectively reduces rust formation. It is the right solution for staying ahead of changing industry standards and achieving lower non-effluent emissions associated with electric vehicle braking systems.

Furthermore, Nitrex will integrate QMULUS, an AI and machine learning IoT platform, to enhance the supplier’s manufacturing capabilities and drive continuous improvement throughout its operations.

The turnkey installation, combined with Nitrex’s skilled R&D team, who craft and develop process recipes for optimal results, further distinguishes the company. Through its holistic approach, Nitrex delivers solutions that set it apart in the industry and reinforce the supplier’s choice to partner on this transformative project.

“We are excited to partner on this significant project,” expressed Nitrex CEO Jean-Francois Cloutier. “Our technical support, industry expertise, and proven solutions played a pivotal role in their decision-making process. This landmark order exemplifies Nitrex’s unwavering pursuit of delivering state-of-the-art heat treatment solutions and an unparalleled customer experience. It also highlights the dedication and collaborative spirit of Nitrex’s global team, empowering our customers to thrive as the transition to electric vehicles and more advanced solutions accelerates.”
