UPC USA REINFORCES ONGOING COMMITMENT TO QUALITY

United Process Controls is pleased to announce that its calibration and testing laboratory in West Chester, Ohio has received accreditation from the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA) to ISO/IEC 17025:2005, the most popular standard for the competence of calibration and testing laboratories in the world.
“The importance of going above and beyond and providing our clients with trusted results has always been paramount to UPC. This accreditation is proof of our continued dedication to quality and provides customers with assurance that the testing and calibration services we carry out are reliable and reproducible,” said Eric Patterson, Quality Manager of UPC. “This was a rigorous certification process spanning many months, and every employee in Ohio worked hard to achieve it. The process was made easier by the professionalism of the A2LA auditing staff, as well as Paul Barker, Engineering Director of UPC, for his countless hours dedicated to proficiency testing, and Greg Stafford, Production Technician of UPC, who was instrumental in calibration procedures. Congratulations to the entire team.”
The Ohio location has held ISO 9001 certification since 2001, but migrated to the ISO/IEC 17025:2005 standard to ensure technical competence and compliance. This standard aligns with the quality management system requirements of ISO 9001, but has additional requirements for the technical operations of a laboratory. Laboratory services at Ohio comprise a spectrum of testing capabilities from analyzer calibration, failure analysis, and product performance that efficiently meet customer quality control and regulatory compliance.
In similar news, the UPC laboratory in Milwaukee, WI has renewed their accreditation to ISO/IEC 17025:2005. Part of the accreditation process included verification of the quality management system in place, as well as a thorough review of the laboratory’s competence to perform calibration and mechanical testing for gas and liquid flow meters under the product brands Flo-Meter, Flo-Tronic, Valve-Tronic Plus, SAV Plus, and AccuFlo series. “UPC Wisconsin has been ISO/IEC 17025 accredited since 2003. This accreditation is a critical component of our ongoing commitment to quality improvements and has built credibility and trust among our flow control clients,” remarked Danny Woodring, Operations Manager of Flow Products.
Both accreditation certificates are available for download on the company’s website, www.group-upc.com/about-us/.
