VACUUM HEAT-TREATING SYSTEMS
The HVF and VVF systems by Nitrex deliver superior performance for homogenization applications requiring improved workability.
Homogenization is done to reduce chemical segregation that results from the casting process. It is also known as diffusion annealing. It is carried out at temperatures high enough to induce the diffusion of alloying elements. The drawback of homogenization is that it produces a coarse grain structure. Consequently, it is often followed by heat treatments such as annealing, normalizing and tempering.
