Effluent Neutralizing Systems

In line with our environmental awareness, the Nitrex series of thermal neutralizing units are adapted to meet environmental targets either through decomposition or dissociation of effluent gas (exhaust gas emission) containing ammonia and other pollutant gases. Without neutralization, effluent gases pollute the environment, with detrimental consequences to the ozone layer.

The Neutralizer eliminates residual ammonia and other pollutant gases by decomposing them at high temperatures. It consists of a neutralizing chamber, a burner, a natural gas train, an air blower, and a control system employing flame monitoring and process controlling sub-systems. Effluent gases enter into the neutralizing chamber, where the burner injects a metered mixture of natural gas and air, and initiates the combustion of gases. The computer system automatically maintains the optimum neutralizing temperature. Different neutralizer unit sizes can handle flows of up to 2120 cfh (1000 l/min).

Dissociators neutralize effluent gases through high-temperature cracking; there is no burning involved in this process. Exhaust gases exiting the furnace, pass through a heated catalyst where ammonia dissociates into innocuous components of hydrogen and nitrogen. The system can process a maximum flow of 212 cfh (100 l/min).

These compact and inexpensive operating units are recommended for gas nitriding and nitrocarburizing furnaces using ammonia gas or can be coupled to other equipment emitting pollutant gases.
